Empowering Your Health Journey with Tailored Solutions

Our primary goal is to ‘dive deep’ looking for any disruption in your health. We want to find any deviation from optimal and fix it as early as possible which is why we use advanced testing to determine the underlying causes of any symptoms or diseases. Even if your blood tests results are within normal ranges, they might not be optimal for your general, physical and mental health.

Determining optimal levels is a must in taking control over your health.

Your body is not a series of individual functions.

It contains a very complex, interwoven series of biochemical reactions performing very complex functions. In order to understand your overall health, we need to ask a lot of questions about your physiology. Each lab test we check is asking a specific question and the results give us specific answers. They help us understand what is going on inside your body. The number and type of lab tests will depend upon your individual situation, including the number of health issues you struggle with and the length of time you have been experiencing them.

Functional Medicine lab work is unique.

Unfortunately, our current medical system does not put enough effort toward the prevention of a disease. It does not encourage medical providers to talk with their patients about their lifestyle habits, or to advise on necessary labs that could catch underlying dysfunction before it becomes full-blown illness. When a traditional provider runs standard blood work, they are looking for an already established disease process. Generally, action is taken only when the lab results are out of the normal range. The trouble with this is that many people might not have an actual disease yet but they are suffering from chronic symptoms already. Why wait until damage has been done?

Functional medicine lab testing aims to prevent disease before it happens by assessing patterns of imbalance that without intervention will end up yielding chronic disease. Laboratory testing is an integral and essential part of your work-up at the Solutions Medical Center. It helps us get a clear picture of your unique physiology and guides our treatment plan. Our lab results typically take longer to be finalized than most medical offices due to the amount of testing.

Test Results

Having blood tests done is not what is essential to your health. The importance is in the interpretation of these tests and recommendations that you get from us and how that transforms your life. This is what will affect your health the most!

  • Lab tests that involve stool, urine, or saliva samples are an additional fee and completed by you at home.

  • You will be provided with step-by-step instructions for at home testing at the time of your appointment. Most at home test kits will come from Rupa Health.

  • After your medical provider has reviewed your final results, they will discuss them with you during your next scheduled appointment, unless you receive other instructions.

Have questions?
We love them.

One of our favorite things is that our clients tend to come in eager to learn. The more you ask, the more you’ll discover. Let’s start with some frequently asked questions, but feel free to contact us if you do not find your answer here.

  • Conventional medical providers typically use standard blood work to identify established disease processes, usually taking action only when results fall outside normal ranges. However, many people may not yet have a diagnosable disease but are already experiencing chronic symptoms. In contrast, functional medicine lab testing focuses on preventing disease by detecting patterns of imbalance that could lead to chronic conditions if left unaddressed. At Solutions Medical Center, functional lab testing is a crucial part of your evaluation. It offers a comprehensive view of your unique physiology, helping us tailor a personalized treatment plan. By examining factors such as metabolism, hormones, immune function, and genetics, functional lab testing provides insights that go beyond conventional medicine, helping us understand and address the root causes of health issues to achieve optimal wellness.

  • Testing may include blood, stool, urine, saliva, or hair samples to provide information about a variety of systems, including metabolic, nutritional, endocrine, gastrointestinal, hormonal, immune, genetic, detoxification, and others. Examples include:

    • Comprehensive Stool Analysis

    • SIBO Testing

    • DUTCH Complete & DUTCH Plus

    • Nutritional Evaluation

    • Food Sensitivity/Allergy Testing

    • Heavy Metal Testing

    • Genetic Testing and many more

  • Currently, We use Quest Diagnostics & Cleveland Heart laboratories for most specimen processing. Both have contracts with all national insurance carriers and hundreds of regional carriers to simplify billing and minimize out-of-network billing issues. A copy of your insurance information will be sent along with your lab work, however, we can not guarantee or have any control over your insurance coverage.

Insurance will typically not cover all the testing, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t benefit you in some capacity. Your insurance carrier should send you an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) that explains in detail the services that were either paid or denied. You may also find this information on an invoice from the lab company. If you need additional information you should contact your insurance carrier directly to determine the reason(s) why your insurance company did not pay your bill. If your bill is due to improper coding from our office, we will recode your tests in order for your insurance company to cover more of the test(s) cost.

Please do not panic if you receive a large bill from the lab company.

Simply call the clinic and we can help you navigate the next course of action you will need to take.
