Secret RF Treatment

Treatment

Skinpen Microneedling Treatment

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that helps minimize the signs of aging, improve the appearance of acne scars and rejuvenate aging skin. The SkinPen device causes controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the body’s natural wound healing process and help to remodel collagen and elastin without causing scar tissue formation. The SkinPen Microneedling treatment is a remarkable, non-laser, non-surgical treatment that is safe for all skin types.

Treatment

After applying a topical numbing cream, SkinPen works by creating a series of hundreds of microscopic channels into the dermis to stimulate the skin’s natural production of new collagen and elastin, helping skin to look and feel healthier.

Results

SkinPen can be used on all parts of the body including the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, legs abdomen and back. The procedure takes 45 minutes – 1 hour depending on the size of the treated area. On average, patients experience some redness up to 2 to 4 days however, most patients heal completely in as little as 24 hours.

Recovery

The total healing time depends on each individual. Most patients have some slight swelling and redness/pinkness (like a mild to moderate sunburn) for two to four days following the microneedling procedure. Some people may see their skin return to normal in about 24 hours.

PRP Plasma Rich Protein

PRP contains proteins and several growth factors that regulate and activate cell migration and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. Studies have shown that PRP can expedite the healing process of tissues and reduce the appearance of pigmentation and acne scarring when used with microneedling.

Treatment

PRP treatment involves using the patient’s own blood as a resource to isolate the platelets with a centrifuge. Because the blood is directly from the patient, the risks of the body rejecting the plasma or having an allergic reaction are extremely minimal. The blood is separated into 3 layers which leaves the PRP available for use during the microneedling process (Secret RD and SkinPen treatment).

Results

By using microneedling as the supplemental delivery method for the PRP, the two treatments work synergistically which leads to more rapid collagen production. Results can vary based on a number of factors including needle penetration, overall skin health, number of passes and treatments received as well as needle size. Patients will be able to note a youthful radiance and tightening of their skin directly following with microneedling treamtent with PRP but it is recommended to receive 4-6 treatments to maintain collagen production and to optimize their skin rejuvenation.
